Encouraging Imagination

The The Coastal Carolina Artists & Crafters Guild Inc promotes arts and crafts in Onslow County and its surrounding areas. The CCAC Guild will accomplish this through education, social functions and events where artists are given a platform to exchange ideas, show their work, and market their craft.


UPCOMING EVENTS


Business Networking with Artists and Crafters (FREE)

In this session, participants will learn best practices and share secrets of success for effectively operating their arts and crafts business. Topics for each monthly session are carefully selected to enable participants to gain knowledge and experience. The unique monthly topic will center on one or more of the following: discussion of trends in marketing and showcasing art and craft products; best practices for networking; increasing sales; pricing products; exhibiting in art and craft shows and festivals; and website marketing.

Doors are open to the public and seminar is FREE to attend. Business Networking with Artists and Crafters is held the last Tuesday of Each Month at the Small Business Center at Coastal Carolina Community College in the Melton Skills Center.

Business Networking for Artists & Crafters Session Topics and Descriptions:

Jan: PLANNING FOR SUCCESS

Where do you want to be both artistically and professionally? Learn how to define your values, identify key choices, and develop a plan to achieve your business goals.

Feb: TIME MANAGEMENT

Discover analytical and tool-based approaches to manage your time. These tools will help you tackle hurdles related to efficiency, flexibility, and structure to help you reach your artistic business goals.

Mar: PORTFOLIO KIT

Your portfolio is the core of your promotional material and professional calling card. Focus on the essential elements: sharpening your artist statement, tailoring your artistic resume, and curating and formatting your work samples.

Apr: MARKETING

Define your product, discover your target audience, make decisions about how you sell your work, and identify a budget and strategy for your artistic business.

May: PROMOTIONS

Craft persuasive messaging and create a strategy for how you will get the word out about your work, events, and news.

Jun: SOCIAL MEDIA BASICS

Using Facebook and Twitter examples, learn core functionality, etiquette, and exercises to help you build an online strategy for your artistic business.

Jul: PRICING

This analytical approach is not intended to be the only way to price your work. It is intended to illustrate the factors of product production that apply to all items in the market. Once you understand what each of the variables are you will be able to customize a formula for yourself that fits your business model.

Aug: RECORDKEEPING

Learn how to track revenues and expenses, make informed projections, and gain a clearer understanding of your artistic business finances.

Sept: LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS

Obtain general information about your intellectual property, contract basics, and structuring your artistic business.

Oct: FUNDING

Learn how to think creatively about diversifying your funding streams by exploring different models for generating value, resources, and revenue.

Nov: GRANTWRITING

Learn the essentials of grant writing along with resources for searching and structuring your proposal.

Dec: Business Plan Essentials

Learn how to prepare a simple business plan, in arts-friendly language, to help you organize all the various aspects of your artistic practice and make informed business decisions.


Bras for a Cause

The Coastal Carolina Artists & Crafters Guild is calling for area artists to show their support for the Fight Against Cancer by creating bras to be voted on and to raise money for the fight against cancer. Here are some of the bras donated!
